ReSound Nexia has launched new power behind-the-ear and in-ear hearing aid models, revolutionising the market with cutting-edge technology. This article looks into the benefits of these models, particularly focusing on Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast compatibility. These advancements promise to significantly enhance the hearing experience for users.

Benefits of In-Ear Models

The newly introduced in-ear models of ReSound Nexia hearing aids offer several advantages:

  • Enhanced Comfort and Discretion: These models are designed to fit snugly within the ear, making them less noticeable and more comfortable for prolonged use.
  • Custom Fit: Each device is tailored to the individual’s ear shape, ensuring optimal sound delivery and comfort.

Bluetooth LE Audio: A Leap Forward

Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio is a game-changer in the hearing aid industry:

  • Superior Sound Quality: Offers clearer and more natural sound.
  • Energy Efficiency: Enhances battery life by reducing the frequency of recharges.
  • Multi-Device Connectivity: Allows connection to multiple devices simultaneously, providing a seamless listening experience.

Auracast: The Future of Audio Streaming

Auracast is an innovative audio broadcasting feature that further elevates the user experience:

  • Seamless Streaming: Facilitates direct streaming from TVs, smartphones, and other devices.
  • Enhanced Public Accessibility: Useful in public spaces such as theatres and lecture halls, where audio can be broadcast directly to hearing aids.
  • Versatility: Supports a wide range of audio sources, making it highly versatile for everyday use.

The ReSound Nexia has technology levels 9, 7, and 5. Seven is the mid-tier, five is the lowest, and nine is the best. It's hard to know which technological level is best for you until you try it. In general, as the technology level decreases, hearing care specialists have fewer functions and the ability to maximise device functionality for you.

It does not guarantee that performance would be lost if you dropped from level 9 to level 7 or 7 to level 5. It simply means that you may miss out on something. Therefore, we always recommend that, if you can afford it, you choose the highest technology. If not, downgrade. Your hearing care specialist will always maximise the technology's benefits.

Front Focus is only accessible on Nexia Premium Level 9. The ability disappears when you switch from the 9 to the 7 or 5s, so use Ultra Focus instead. Front Focus boosts the signal-to-noise ratio by 4 dB in background noise.

Front Focus surpasses the Ultra Focus function on level 7 and level 5 devices. For those unfamiliar with signal-to-noise ratio, a one-decibel increase improves speech understanding in background noise by 10%. Therefore, a 40% rise in background noise speech understanding is a four-decibel gain in SNR.

Remember that the ReSound Nexia level 9 hearing aids' directionality works best when you can shut off your ear canal more. How you gain this benefit depends on whether you use a dome or a bespoke ear mould to fit your hearing aid.

The cost depends on your area, the technology you choose, the services you get, and their quality. Due to this, hearing aid prices might vary by hundreds of pounds depending on each of these criteria. Value matters, and Liverpool Hearing Centre believes you won't find better care elsewhere.
